Credit 00
Credit 00 has tactically carved out a stellar reputation in the electro scene with releases on Mechatronic, Uncanny Valley and his own Rat Life label. This latest single from Credit 00 on Pinkman is a masterstroke, incorporating dazzling arpeggios, emotional vocals, and heavyweight bass grooves that will go down a treat in the club scene.
Hope marks a dramatic shift in output as the German producer drops a modern-day dance classic. 'Hope' lies somewhere between the gritty, hard-hitting electro sound and an emotional club rollercoaster. Over dubbed vocoded vocals accentuate the machine funk while keeping a heartfelt vibe. The catchy "I just hope there is hope, but honestly, I'm not so optimistic" gives off melancholic realism, furthering feelings of nihilism, nostalgia, and excitement. Rugged basslines contrast with dreamy synth melodies, that is, before even mentioning the expansive horns that echo the vocal melody. Proper electro that flirts with trancey fun is a combination we will start hearing more of in the same vein of this tour de force.
