Tadeo - Blue Like Metal / The Bounce
Tadeo's work has always emulated the classic astral sound with dizzying excellence. Forming futuristic soundscapes interlaced with heavy Tom-laden percussion has been a particular strength for the Madrid-based artist. His latest release, Blue Like Metal / The Bounce (2023), leans furiously back into this aesthetic. 'Blue Like Metal' is a psychedelic techno heater built for the club. Synths swell into hazy, dissonant climaxes as Tadeo conducts the dance floor. Breakneck transitions throughout give the track exciting energy that refuses to let up. 'The Bounce' continues the audio assault, using concise loops to march the track forward. There's a beautiful interplay between highly resonant laser beams and augmented organs that become the bedrock of the cut. Relentless pressure is sustained with crushing claps and crisp metallic rides. This is peak-time techno at its finest. The ingredients of choice for Tadeo's 6th instalment on Madrid Techno, the new brother project to Cyclical Tracks and Another Intelligence, are hard, fast, and foreboding.
