DJ Nobu - Flares / Wata Igarashi - 泡 (Abuku)

Fabric has been a bastion for dance music in the UK, firmly solidifying its cultural status as one of the world's premier clubs and cultural voices through the tireless persistence of new and innovative sounds. The space has become iconic, with countless legends entering its hallowed halls weekend after weekend. The Fabric Original label has produced hit after hit, with some of the heaviest hitters in the electronic scene gracing lacquer on the imprint.

The next release of the Fabric Original series sees some of the most exciting figures in the scene at the minutes take centre stage. DJ Nobu and Wata Igarashi have cultivated a star power with vibrant and colourful sound palettes, with this release being no different. Two tracks, one from each practitioner, explore contemporary psychedelia with DJ Nobu introducing jazz-infused pitch bends, adding characteristics rarely on the dancefloor, the peaks of which send shivers down the spine. On the other hand, Wata Igarashi showcases the sound of neon-soaked city streets that glow with the colours of artificial rainbows. Dizzying arpeggiators run rampant with slow progressions, constantly shifting focus. Both artists show what they're best known for on this release, entrancing techno on the borders of the genre. This release is a fantastic example of Japanese techno at its finest, with each maestro flawlessly exhibiting their signature talent and ear for the abnormal.
