Geistech - The Beyonder

A whirlwind of sci-fi, Goth and Italo permeates this Geistech record. Released on The DJ Hell Experience, the six tracks of The Beyonder (2024) are some of the rawest and most fun cuts this side of the 80s. It's a treat of the senses that expands on EBM, an industrial one that brings a new punch of pizazz and passion. The first track, a collaboration between Geistech and DJ Hell, 'Andy Warhol' is a sample-heavy trip down the well of EBM. The duo attacks the opener with everything but the kitchen sink as they switch up samples and sequences, going as far as having just a guitar playing in the break in some beautiful parts. Geistech mixes wayward ideas, creating cyber-goth epics that would sound perfectly at home in the hyper-religious far future. The track, 'Atempora', embodies this gothicness, with almost holy strings that build, rising to what sounds like cathedral ceilings. 'Caravan' bridges that gap between goth and sci-fi. Drawing from Giorgio Maroda, Geistech incorporates dark and moody atmospheres to push the boundaries. At the same time,’' Go Close’' mixes the industrial with the sci-fi B-movie aesthetic. The beats are booming, the base is metallic, and all the while, there's an X-Files-like mystery just lingering in the melodies. The same goes for the closer 'Somos Robot', which will surely be an absolute club killer. Tight percussion with a continuous roller just accentuated by the vocoder that jumps in occasionally.
