DJ Europarking - I Luv U Butt

Ellen Alien's UFO Inc. label has been making waves since it launched in 2019. UFO Inc. keeps things refined, focusing on this acidic side of techno. So far, we've seen some greats, such as Ellen herself, Alien Rain, Regal and Boston 168, find their footing on a label. Since the introduction of DJ Europarking with his explosive first release, Bitte Everyday! (2022), I could smell something cooking in the air. DJ Europarking seemingly came out of nowhere as the newest alias of Pascal Pinkert, a Dutch artist you may know as Dollkraut or one of De Ambassade's members.

introducing a new blend of hardcore Eurodance, DJ Europarking's change of direction from the acid-focused techno usually seen on your UFO Inc is ferocious. The tracks on his latest, I Luv U Butt (2023), are taken to the edge of excess. Fierce distortions coat the drums and the BPM soar to insane speeds. The melodies and bass meander between whimsical and light-hearted to something spookier and more sinister. It's a Halloween fairground. What DJ Europarking has achieved over two releases is excellent. He bridges the gap between the intense Hard House and 90 Eurodance. For example, the title track on the EP, 'I Luv U Butt', is a roller coaster in both senses of the word. It's quick, dynamic and with all the trimmings of an amusement park ride. The percussion is like the ratcheting of old mechanical parts clanking together. At the same time, the bass takes on a much more playful tone. Things ramp up on 'Cantado' as DJ Europarking gets into this old-school swing of UFO Inc. in his own particular way. Ecstatic acid lines crescendo with spiking resonances throughout, creating catchy melodic squelches. The same can be said for 'Purple Thang'. Course acid rumbles the speakers as Pinkert evokes a trancey vibe on this one. Everything comes to a head with a brilliant sample of "bitch are you on drugs!?". The standout for me includes the only feature on the EP, 'Strapped' DJ Europarking, together with Slimfit, mash-up Goan trance and creepy 8-bit horror movie music. Pinkert uses countless sections to keep the energy pulsating. Pumping kick drums allow enough space in the top end for the surprisingly hyper-pop vocals from Slimfit. This EP is truly a romp for club use only!
